Sewing

Tailoring Certification

For over a decade we have been giving women the skillset to sew through a 3 month course which covers hand stitching, machine stitching and pattern cutting. About 60% of the women who complete the course earn by tailoring from home.

Income Generation

We also provide sewing machines on individual-case basis because there are many housewives in the community who are eager to work but not permitted by their families to work outside their homes. These women are able to create and sell beautiful Kurtis, dresses, and handbags from their own homes so they can improve their financial security.

  • 1000+ women trained

  • 46 sewing machines loaned

  • Average income between 7,000-10,000 rupees

Computer Education

Our computer center imparts computer literacy through four month-courses for a monthly token fee. We offer classes in Microsoft Office, Desktop Publishing, Tally, and Computer Fundamentals for children as well as a special course for illiterate students in basic desktop publishing.

  • 100 students graduate from the computer program every year.

Scouts

Children in scouts learn many different values through group activities. There is also an emphasis on their physical fitness so in the future they can make their career bright and be a better human being. Annual activities include camping trips and outdoor activities, training and skill development in areas such as disaster management, community work, exercise, ambulatory and firefighting support.

  • 138 scout graduates to date

Cooking

Our cooking program, tailored for homemakers, addresses a common concern among women who predominantly stay at home: the reliance on cheap, nutrient-deficient junk food for their families. Over the past 7 years, we've empowered these individuals by teaching traditional, healthy, and cost-effective meal preparation. This success has led participants to enthusiastically share their discovered recipes and seek guidance to cook them. Additionally, the acquired culinary skills have created job prospects for them, enabling employment as skilled cooks. Beyond cooking, these classes foster a sense of community, friendship, and provide inadvertent counseling, enriching the participants' lives holistically.

  • 30 women attend monthly 3-hour class

  • Recipes include Manchurian, paneer sabjis, traditional sweets, and many more!
